In true drama fashion, I set my alarm according to GMT+8 the night before our trip to Nami Island. We woke up with only an hour to spare before our ITX to Gapyeong would depart. Beautiful.

But to cut the long story short — we made it after madly rushing and a flurry of swear words to egg us on. And I am so glad we made it. I mean, it only took me four whole trips to get here, right? Thankfully, Nami did not disappoint one bit. While there aren’t many things to actually do there (10/10 would recommend taking the zip-line over, by the way), the island’s natural charms are evident even with its barren trees and muddy snow-covered slippery grounds. Granted, we could have snapped some better shots…but I like to think that there’s beauty in our imperfect ones. So cliché, I know. Please shoot me.

Spent our afternoon walking around the entire place (it’s not too big), trying to skip pebbles on the stream, and doing our best to crack related Winter Sonato jokes even though all the knowledge we had about the drama was that they had iconic scenes (scene?) at Nami. Also, because it was New Year’s Eve, we got to write down our hopes and wishes for 2016 and hang them up with thousands of other dreamers. You see, this is what I like about South Korea. Forever making me wistful and nostalgic. Weep.
